I spent the morning on the range with the RIA Compact 1911. Bottom line: The RIA Compact is amazing. It has about the same recoil as a regular Government Model 1911 I thought it would kick a lot more, but it does not and it is surprisingly accurate. The trigger is crisp no creep at all my guess is it’s about 3.5 lbs. Functioning with 230 gr ball ammo was flawless. The sights shoot to point of aim at 25 yards. I kept all of my shots in the 9 and 10 rings shooting offhand, and that kind of performance at 25 yards from a 3.5-inch 1911 is impressive. For a fixed sight, compact, 1911 at 25 yards, this handgun delivers. I own several other 1911s including some high end ones, and the RIA is right in there with the rest of them. It is an exceptional value.
